first of all, hit play on the video, and listen as you read this post. it'll make it even better:

for those of you just-now tuning in for the first time, whether you've seen flyers around Kansas City in coffee shops, gyms, libraries, locally-owned boutiques and more, received a support letter in the mail or a little email/message from me, have heard by word-of-mouth, or are just wondering "what the hell does this girl keep posting about on facebook?!"— i will be happy fill you in on what's going on!

tomorrow is my last day of work, for a really long time.

why? because i'm going places this year, people. PLACES!
not just the same 'ol, day-in, day-out routine for this lady anymore. no sir! {or ma'am}.

God has called me to serve all over the world, and these are the countries He has me going to:

GUATEMALA
HONDURAS
EL SALVADOR
UKRAINE
ROMANIA
KENYA
UGANDA
TANZANIA
CAMBODIA
THAILAND
MALAYSIA
!!!

if this isn't the coolest thing you've heard in a while, i don't know what is. seriously.

maybe you don't believe in God, or don't have much of a relationship with Him. maybe you think this is all just a quarter-life crisis at the ripe age of 25, or a complete spur-of-the-moment, spontaneous thing. but He has radically transformed my life over the years, so i can't imagine doing much else but give my life back to Him, to a cause He placed on my heart over 2 years ago, to serve the Nations and to share the Gospel of His son Jesus coming to die for us so we could have eternal LIFE…with people who have never heard that GOOD NEWS.

and so i'll go. in 9 days, to be exact.

i'm so ready for the journey, but also slightly freaking out, if i can be so honest. it's been such a process to uproot my life for an entire year–there's just so much that goes into it, things you wouldn't even think about.

things like…

who will feed my cat, benjamin button? should i turn in my taxes early?–oh, the IRS hates people like me. what about my car insurance–cancel it? who will check on my cute mama every few days? should i seran-wrap my bed so i don't come back to bugs/spiders living in it? oh heavens–do i have enouch deodorant and chap-stick??! where do they sell that stuff in bulk?? and where on EARTH will i store all of my unused clothes? {i've read the scripture about moths and vermin and thieves! plus, i can only carry what will fit in a pack on my back…}

you may laugh, but these are {only some} of the serious questions i've asked myself.
i'm so freakin' stoked to get out there and see the world, and so very blessed by the ways in which God has already provided for me. He's insane, in the best way possible, and there is no other God i would surrender my life to. seriously, if you don't know Him, give Him a chance.

but in order to STAY out in the Nations for a full year, i do need to be fully funded. if you want to help support me, you can do so by clicking on the link on the left-hand side of this page. <——————–
{it's a pleasant link…i promise. and it'll give you super easy directions on how to give once, monthly, or quarterly.}
i have $8,500 left to go. NO BIGGIE FOR A BIG GOD, and faithful people like YOU.

{just consider your donation like giving me a BIG, FAT hug. i love hugs. i'm a hugger.}

and i love you all. whether i know you or not. and i seriously couldn't do this without your love and support.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2012 WILL BE ONE TO REMEMBER!

do something outrageous.
out of the ordinary.
risky.
FUN!
outlandish.
slightly embarassing.
worthwhile.
and do all things with LOVE.

i'll leave you with this quote from a fellow Missourian:

"go out on a limb. that's where the fruit is." {mark twain}
