Prevention.

There are many things in life that we learn and are taught
to prevent. For example, look both ways before crossing the street so that
oncoming cars don’t hit us; brush our teeth to prevent cavities, etc. This past
month we worked with an amazing organization called Remember Nhu. There are few organizations around the world that
work and do what they do. They actually have homes for girls that prevent
them from entering the sex trafficking industry and prostitution. The
way they find the girls is basically by word of mouth. They hear stories of
young girls (6-18) that are home and not in school either because their parents
or grandparents don’t have enough money for gas to take them, or they are all
together orphaned.  Another way is
because where these girls live might not be the safest location. For example,
there were some that were living next to construction sights and not in school
(when there is one girl and ten men around, it’s a sign of trafficking). Some
of the girls come from homes that parents just couldn’t take care of them so
before the parents can sell them to pimps or brothels, Remember Nhu takes them in, giving them a better chance of life. If
it weren’t for this organization 90% of the girls in the home would be sold.

It was a pretty amazing month, just being and loving on
these wonderful girls. Between both homes there were 77 girls from ages 6 to 18
years old. During the day when they went to school, we worked on a new piece of
land that the organization bought for a new home. We cut trees, mowed, weed
wacked (which was my favorite!) and made a garden. We also worked on a house they
are building for future World Racers to stay when they come to Remember Nhu.

When the girls came home, we played with different games
(like volleyball and badminton), they played guitar for us, and basically they
just wanted to talk with us. Seeing the light in their eyes telling us what
they wanted to do and be when they were older was amazing because they had so
much joy and hope. This organization is preventing the light to die out in
these girls. It gives them a hope and future. I kept thinking about our other
teams working in the red light district and how every night they walked the
streets and went into the bars to talk and show God’s love to the girls and
women already living that hard life.

There a only a few homes that prevent these beautiful girls
from going into such a life but there are hundreds of organizations that take
girls out, which, don’t get me wrong, we need them and they are doing amazing
things, but we need to pray that more people would step up and start
preventing this horrible disgusting perverted life. It can happen. It was an
honor and privilege to work with this awesome ministry and meet these awesome
wonderful girls!!

So please continue to keep Remember Nhu and all the wonderful girls in your prayers and lets
pray that more homes will open up to prevent this life of darkness and turmoil
from happening.
