Namastie from Nepal!! I made it here finally of traveling. I’m very excited to be in Nepal but India was an amazing place to be. Leaving the orphanage was a lot harder than I expected. All day long the kids were already upset that we were leaving. Some were even crying and just wanted to be around us all day. They kept asking us if we were happy. They said they weren’t happy. It was a great month and I’m honored to have worked with Mercy and Grace. God is doing some great work there and it is so prevalent. I love all the kids and will continue to pray for them each day.

So getting to Nepal was a wee bit crazy. It was Monday night around 10:30pm that we left the orphanage to get a bus into Hyderabad. That bus ride took 8 hours. We got to Hyderabad Tuesday morning and headed to a place called School of Worship. We met up with other teams from our squad.  We took showers, rested and used the internet. Went to lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe which was heavenly! That evening we all packed up and took another bus to the airport around midnight. Our flight wasn’t until 6am. We couldn’t check in that early so we just slept in a breezeway of the airport. It wasn’t quite outside but it definitely wasn’t inside! We were quite a sight. Bags and people sleeping everywhere. I slept on some chairs, not the most comfortable sleeping arrangement. Finally early Wednesday morning we go on the plane for about hour and half and then we landed in New Delhi. We were there for the day so we got a hotel room to put all our packs so we didn’t have to walk all day with them. Had pizza hut for lunch which was fantastic. There was group of that walked around but I went back to the hotel and slept! 🙂 Then around 7pm we walked to the train station. Met up with some more of our squad. We were all excited to see each other and exchange stories from all our different experiences. Then someone realized that we were at the WRONG train station!!
Our train was schedule to leave in 30 minutes and the other train station was about 30 minutes away. So we all jumped in taxi no matter what size it was with all our packs and dove to the other station. My team was jammed in this car. Now thinking about it, it was really funny. So we got to the train station but before we could enter we had to through a metal detector. Our train was already there ready to leave. Someone of us started going through but I think we broke it so they just let us through. We ran up the stairs and started looking for which car we had to get on. Basically running through the station we found our car and jumped on. Very little room on the train so it was crazy when we got on with our big packs. Once we were on the train started leaving. This train was a sleeper so there was really no seats just beds. It took us a little bit to figure to get situated but we did. The only issue was that there was no room for our packs but on our beds with us. These beds were probably a little less than 6ft long. So in that moment I was really thankful I am short. Some of the taller people I felt bad for. So we were on that train for I believe 14 hours. So Thursday morning around 11am we got to our destination. We got of the train and then got on a bus for the rest of the trip. This bus ride was about 13 hours. We stopped for lunch at this place on the side of the road. It was actually my favorite meal for the entire month. We got back on and continued driving to the boarder. We got the border made across safely with no issues. Made some sketchy bathroom breaks but around 4am we made it to our hotel. Actually the bus couldn’t drive close enough because of power lines so we all had to get off and walk the rest of the way. It wasn’t that far away but at 4am and in the freezing cold it seemed forever. So yeah we finally made it to Nepal! I’m excited to see everything God will do this month in this beautiful country. Keep us in you prayers! Love you all!!
