So when we first started thinking about India of course has girls we started thinking about the beautiful dresses all the Indian women wear. So one day our contacts here at Mercy and Grace took us shopping for our sari’s. Even the guys came which we all know is one their favorite things to do…shop. We walked into this store and all the walls were covered with some of the most beautiful materials. Every color you could imagine, all different designs and even a lot of sparkle… I was in heaven!!! All the girls purchased punjabis the long dress with pants underneath and a sari. So the other day all the girls were resting and taking naps when all of sudden we were called down by the younger girls here at the orphanage. They told us to bring our sari with us. We were told to go in where we usually eat our meals. The older girls and some of the teachers were already in there waiting for us. Each one of us had a group of girls putting on our saris for us. All I have to say is that I don’t know how they do it everyday. To put that thing on takes patience and some amazing folding technique. So while were putting on sari’s I guess it was decided that we had to show them off like a fashion show. So soon all the kids were lined up on either side of the door waiting for us to make our grand entrance. No one was allowed to peek through the windows and no one was to go by the door until we were all dressed. So here in picture form is our fashion show.
