Hi my name is Suzanna Winter I’m 18. I love warm places, tea, and to travel. I want to see as much of the world as possible. I am the eighth child/first girl out of 13 kids, I have eleven brothers and one sister. I have been going to a community college to get my degree in in American Sign Language Interpretation, I’m not totally sure if that is what I want to do so I have currently put that on hold.
I have always wanted to travel, so when an opportunity cam around to go to China and work at an orphanage, I jumped at it. But my Mother was not to thrilled about me going to China, so didn’t end up going. The rest of that year I continued going to school for ASL interpreting. I spent that summer working for my Uncle in California. When I came back home I found out that my sister-in-law had joined the marines. I started going to the marine workouts with her. And I really enjoyed it. After several months I started seriously considering joining. As I was considering joining the marines, one of my other sister-in-laws Fathers told me about the world race. Now this really got me thinking about what I wanted to do. After about six months of carful thought and prayer I found God leading me towards The World Race. I must say that it was not easy to hear God while I was thinking about what I wanted to do, I had to stop thinking about what I wanted and listen to what God was telling me.
I am blessed to have a family who will support me weather it be joining the marines or going on The World Race. This is a big step for me and my family. Only one of my brothers has ever ben out of this country, so my family is a little hesitant about me leaving for such a long period of time. But I know that they support me a hundred percent.
I am very exited about this opportunity God has brought my way. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me and my group as we begin this adventure.
