On this first day of 2010 I decided I would share with you my word for the year… POSSIBLE!

A few years ago someone told me that they always chose a word for each year, that sounded good to me so I decided to do it too. In 2008 my word was Growth and I did grow in many ways that year. 2009 was Reconcile, and that was not as obvious but reconciliation did play a significant role this past year. One big way was that God reconciled me to Him as my Father. My mind has always known it though I did not have intimacy with my dad so I did not know what it meant.  God showed me this year! What a beautiful thing.

So, in the past couple months this word, possible, has come to me in many ways. My squad started reading the New Testament together (virtually as we are all over the place) and it first stuck out to me then through the gospels. It was like a beacon flashing at me among all the wisdom surronding it. Then my brother, Ken, who is currently on the race that started in August got placed on another team and their new name became “Olur” which means possible in Turkish. A week or so later I went into the kitchen and talk radio was blaring with no one listening and the pastor speaking said “For all things are possible with God.” To top it off I went to the Christmas Service at my church and the message out of Luke included Luke 1:37 For all things are POSSIBLE with God! This is the first time I have a verse for the year too! God brought me specifically this verse 3 times, though there are more places where the sentiment is the same. How cool is that? At least I think so!

This is the most exciting word I have felt attached to a year so far. Through this process I have been challenged to truly beleive and live out Luke 1:37. I am really starting to beleive it more deeply than ever before. So, I am asking God to do what seems impossible to man but is possible for Him! I am asking Him to bring in the rest of my support in a matter of days (need about $7000 more)! I am asking Him to use Team 12:18 (that’s my team) to heal many in every country we go to! I will be asking for miricles, for language to speak when there is no translater (or even if there is ;), and to bring to my mind things to ask for that I wouldn’t have dared to on my own!! There is so much more to the Kingdom of God that I feel we’ve been missing out on because we don’t ask and we don’t truly believe this to our core.

So, will you join me? Start asking God for the seeminly impossible, because ..All things are Possible with God! Luke 1:37. You might get a different word for 2010, if so, please share it with me, for God can and does more than one thing in our lives each year! Let’s work out our Faith this year.. however that may look it probably won’t be what you expect so Let go and let God!
