I love my family and I think it is amazing that because of Jesus I have family all over the world. And it is growing all the time! I am so looking forward to getting to meet so many brothers and sisters from around the country through my team and around the world by those we encounter along the way. This appeals to me because I have an amazing family that God allowed me to born into. I could tell you all about them but I know that I have a tendency to go on and on when it comes to my family. I will spare you from reading pages upon pages about my 6 siblings, my wonderful mom, my great uncle loomis, my many cousins and aunts & uncles. Though I do want to highlight one for now, my brother Ken.

Ken left 5 days ago early Sunday morning to head to the airport and officially started the World Race. It was more emotional than usual for me because he has been a rock for me in so many ways. So, as I prepare to be ready and finally go on my race come Jan. I won’t be able to call him. It was such a blessing to send him off and bitter sweet since I know he won’t be there to send me off.

Enough of that… It is so cool to me that both of us came to an understanding of what it meant to be a follower of Christ in the same time frame, that on our very first missions trip after that God imprinted a heart for the world on both our hearts, and for the first time in 20 years God will overlap our journeys with Christ. We will not cross each other physically, but to know that we will have a different but similar journey by being a part of the World Race brings a sweetness to this experience for me. He is 2 years older than me and has been a missionary for many years. Ken has an amazing heart and uses his gifts well. I am excited to keep up with his blog to see what God is doing through and in him as he travels this next 11 months. If you would like to also just to his page at www.kenvirzi.theworldrace.org and you get get a glimpse of him and some of my other family in my photos.

How cool is it the we are both doing this in the same time frame in the 20th year of being Christ Followers!! I love that kind of stuff. Thanks for reading.
