We have officially had our first travel day During the Race!!

We got on a really nice bus from Chiang Mai and rode through the night to the Cambodian border.  Luckily, our big packs had their own vehicle and everyone had their own seat.  Then we disembarked, went on an adventure through customs, and then split our squad up amongst three other smaller buses complete with all our packs.

The new buses were almost just as nice, but considerably smaller.  The packs got piled on the back row and in the front passenger seat.  All seats that folded down where folded down and filled.  Two lucky people got to sit on the wheel.  I was one of those lucky people.  We were challenged at Launch to serve and prefer each other and one example of how we could do this was by sitting on the worst seat on the bus.  Well, I got it… And it was honestly not my favorite experience.  Spending approximately 9 hours scrunched into a seat unable to truly get comfortable is no one’s I know idea of fun!!

However, looking at the people on the bus with me, I’m glad I had the seat.  It meant no one else had to have it.  Sure I was uncomfortable, but then the only other person who had to be that uncomfortable was the one on the other side of the bus.  And sometimes, what matters is the little things like allowing yourself to be uncomfortable for the sake of others.

As for the worst seat on the bus, while I can’t say I look forward to it, but I will be willing to fight for it.  I already know how it feels and will be perfectly fine if my teammates don’t have to experience it as well.

Until next time!
