Holy cow!

I’m actually here.

What was I thinking?

I’ve missed these people (who I have only spent a week with prior)!

Is this real life?

I can’t believe this is actually happening.

It’s the World Race!! It’s the World Ra-ace!!

All of these thoughts and more have crossed my mind at some point during the last 24 hours.  It’s here. I’m here. Time for Launch!!!

For the non-Racers out there, Launch is when your squad comes together for a few more days of bonding (too much, what is too much?), of training, of having a bunch of information thrown your way that you need to remember for the next 11 months.  It’s (so far) just as intimidating as Training Camp, but in a completely different way.  Cause this time, at the end of the few days, you actually LEAVE THE COUNTRY and go to your first ministry sight.

So squad leaders, team leaders, logistics coordinators, finance people (me!) and Unsung Heroes coordinators met up yesterday to learn the ins and outs of the different expectations and programs being used.  Today, the rest of the squad came and we have begun the process of making sure we are all where we need to be to leave.

Our first stop is Thailand.  We officially leave Sunday.  It is both insanely exciting and more than slightly terrifying.  The awesome thing is while I am battling the excitement and fear, there is an overwhelming calmness.  God has brought me this far.  Only He made it possible. And He’s got the rest of it planned out.  It has been such an amazing journey to get to this point and I am extremely excited to see what God has planned for these next 11 months for my squad and I!!

As I prepare to lose myself (as in this TobyMac video) to Him, I ask that you please join us on this journey by subscribing to this blog (and/or any of my awesome teammates or squadmates)!!  Will you also keep us in your prayers?

Until next time. “Hobey-Ho, let’s go!”
