In my last post, I mentioned why I was felt called to go on the World Race… Now let's tackle some of the other questions I get asked often…

What…

What is the World Race? Is it that tv show thing?
No, it's not the tv show…
Simplest answer: It is an 11 month missions trip to 11 different countries where you are submersed in the hope of serving the least of these (Matt 25:40) in those places.

What were you THINKING (this is more a question I ask myself, but thought you'd want to know the answer to)?!?!
I was thinking that God was telling me to "Get Back in the House!".  I was at a point where I'd been out of church for a while.  I was looking for a new church home, but not really putting any effort into it.  When I found a place that was a good fit, I still went sporadically.  God put the World Race on my heart to get me back in the fellowship (and then, to make sure I was listening, had a really good friend preach a much needed sermon titled "Get Back in the House!").

What about your teaching job?
Sadly, I will have to resign my position.  I plan on enjoying every minute I am with my students between now and then.  My principal and several co-workers have known about the WR since before I even applied and they are amazingly supportive.  They will be missed greatly!!

I'm not sure if/where I will teach upon returning.  God has not shown me what He wants me to do after the WR, just that He wants me to go.  I am trying to learn to follow Him and take things one step at a time (not my forte, I know, hence the "learning"!).

Where…

Where are will you be going?
My team and I will be going to Ireland, Ukraine, Romania, India, Nepal, Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, and Taiwan… At least currently. All countries and routes are subject to change at any moment.

How…

How do you feel about going?
Excited!!  I am looking forward to what God has to teach me.  I don't think it will always be fun, but I whole-heartedly believe it will be worth-while!!  Nervous… I'm an introvert of a social butterfly (paradoxical, I know) and traveling with 60 people seems intimidating.  There's actually a whole host of other answers, but I'm sure we'll get to them later!  😉

How can I (the person reading this now) keep up with your journey?
This is an easy one!  Click on the "Update Alerts" on the left under my picture and you will get notified whenever I update my blog!

How can I help?
There are three ways to help:
  1.  Please pray!! Pray for my squad, the work we will be doing and the hearts we will have!
  2. Contributing financially… I have to raise the funds (about $20,000 in all) to go and your help is
appreciated.  Just click on the "Support Me" link on the left to do so (Being a numbers
person, I figured out that if 72 people will contribute $25 a month for each month I'm gone,
this will be raised easily.  However, any amount helps.)!
 3.  Pray!!  We're going to be gone 11 months; there can not be too much of this!

I think that's all the big ones. If I missed one, let me know and I will try to get it answered for you!
