I love the power of a good story.

Before I became a World Racer, I read blog after blog about the World Race. These blogs gave me a glimpse into the many wonderful things God was doing around the world, for the glory of His Name. I also was able to see how Jesus was working in the hearts of those who were telling the stories.

Enter Stephanie May Wilson.

A couple of years ago, Stephanie was a World Racer. Her blogs were always full of life, joy, and the love of Jesus. More than a few times, Jesus used her words to speak directly to my heart. Even though I had never met this girl, I looked up to her. During her time as a World Racer and afterward, a friendship between her and I began to form. She kept blogging after the World Race, and a friendship began to form between the two of us. Through blogging, Instagram, and Facebook, we have been able to get to know each other’s heart more and more.  Stephanie loves this life that Jesus has given her, and makes a point to celebrate every little facet of it.

But she hasn’t always loved Jesus or followed after Him with her whole heart.  Stephanie was a sorority girl at a college known for partying. One night, Stephanie was getting her hair done by a sorority sister before a night out. Stephanie noticed writing on the mirror in front of her, letters in pink lipstick that would be the catalyst to a new life that Stephanie never could have imagined.

Today is a celebration of that new life for Stephanie. Her very first book, The Lipstick Gospel, comes out today. The Lipstick Gospel is a celebration of the amazing work that Jesus has done in the heart of one of His daughters. It is the backstory of a missionary and world-changer. I had the honor of being able to read the book before it officially released. I couldn’t put the book down as I read about the extravagant grace and love Jesus showed Stephanie in her darkest moments of life. I rejoiced with her as the love of Jesus became real to her.

If you are looking for a good book to read, please check out The Lipstick Gospel. It’s FREE, so really, there is nothing to lose. It is not a super-long book, so the attempted excuse of “Well, I’m not really a reader” is not valid either. Stephanie poured her heart out in the writing of this book. I believe that many lives will be changed and blessed through her writing–perhaps even yours.
