Driving down a dirt road, passing some cows, and many street children, we reach the house in which the family has invited us over to pray for them.  The street consists of homes that are not much bigger than some people’s bedrooms.  Other homes may not be much bigger than some people’s bathrooms to be quite honest.

Entering into the home, the family was so eager for prayer and the power of the Lord to be with them.  The woman had just lost her husband five months ago.  Her parents were living with her.  Her father had just recently had a stroke. We got to pray for several of the family members, and then we noticed the father who just had a stroke was lying down in the other room.

We asked to pray for him.  This man couldn’t speak but had such a sweet spirit.  After slowly walking into the main room, we got to pray for him to be healed.  Even though we didn’t see him be able to have the ability to physically speak again that day, he was truly touched.

He kept putting his hand to his heart and extending it out to us repetitively with a sweet smile in his eyes.

Tears came to my eyes. He was so excited that we came to pray for him.  Despite his circumstances of recently having a stroke and living in extreme poverty, his eyes twinkled with a smile because we came to pray for him.

What an honor it is to be an ambassador for the Lord.  We have the privilege to pray for and encourage local believers.   We have the privilege to serve the Lord.

I encourage you to ask the Lord who you can encourage or pray for today.  You never know how much it will mean to someone.  You will be bringing the Lord’s kingdom here to Earth.

“Let your kingdom come, let your will be done, on Earth as it is in heaven.”
