“My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30

Jesus Christ spoke these words.  He suffered more than you or I could imagine and all of humanity’s salvation rested on His life.  Yet, He still said his yoke was easy and His burden was light.

In the past two weeks, we have been in Costa Rica, Atlanta, LA, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Thailand, and to two villages in Ubon Thailand.  We’ve done bible skits, crafts, games, and taught English to over 120 children.

Needless to say, we were tired!

After reading this verse, I thought how insane it is that Jesus said his burden was light.  We’ve been so tired and it is amazing to think that if Jesus Christ’s burden is light, how light ours should be since He is the one using us and working through us.

Again, this verse came up while working in a village with about 20 children. A leader was doing a study on this verse.

It hit me all of a sudden that we were tired from sharing about Christ so much, yet these children are tired of running. They are tired of running away from their broken homes full of alcoholism and abuse.  They are tired of not being loved or cared for. They are tired of not receiving an education due to lack of funds and a school close by.

The verse gave me encouragement in persevering to sharing the hope of Christ and the gospel.

There are so many people in the world that are tired of the brokenness they experience on a daily basis.

I pray you continue to share the love of Christ with all of those around you so they know they can run towards their heavenly Father and He will embrace them with arms of love. He will give them strength.

This is a picture of just three of the beautiful children we met who have come from broken homes. However, they have experienced the love of Christ and are walking in His freedom.
