we are doing what we call ATL (ask the Lord) for the last two weeks of our time here. we don’t have any ministry set up no host, no one cooking for us, and anybody knows who we are. we just asked God where do you want us to go and let the holy spirit lead.

so we are now in the city of Tamale. and God showed up

when we stepped of the bus and we were homeless. with about 50 pounds of bags for each of us on the team. we talked with a taxi driver for a minuet told him we needed a cheap place for the six of us to stay. he said he had a place and off we went, a short ride and we were at a not so nice looking hotel. they wanted to charge us more than we could pay and we would have two people sleeping on the floor. so we set out for a new place the thing is because we are white taxi drivers think we are rich and try and over charge us so we didn’t have the money to get a taxi to another hotel when we didn’t know where a cheap one was/if we would stay at the hotel the taxi could take us too. we set out on foot in the sun, fully loaded.

if there was a time Africa was looking like my least favorite place so far on the race this was the time. it was hot, the bags were heavy i have guitar that i am carrying and i was ready to just sit in the shade and wait for other members from my team to go and find a place and come back for me when the work was done. after walking over a mile, we came to a place that another team was staying at and was once again over our budget.

we sat on the side walk talking through our options and i just put my head down and said God please give us a place to stay.

and not a moment later the others team’s leader walked over and said that one of the guy on the squad met someone and they said if anyone needed a place to stay to give them a call and price wouldn’t be a problem. after a phone call we were getting pick up by a man named Gabriel. he runs hotels and when we got the hotel he asked how do you want to do the rooms, Darlin answered we want two rooms one for the guys one for the girls. he leaned down and asked her is that because of your budget? she gave a nod. he then said get them all their own rooms we want you to sleep well.

We have since found a pastor to do ministry with he is so full of the Holy Spirit we spent a day in a village witch in something that I don’t think I will ever be able to fully describe to someone who hasn’t been to Africa much less one of the villages.

Our team spoke at a school and prayed over the students

The younger ones just want to know your name and laugh when they hear that I sound a little different when I talk the older ones want to be friends on Facebook so we can talk and they can come to the USA.

It was two of the best weeks in Ghana we went to a national park and saw elephants and baboons. I got to pet a live crocodile and hold its tail. All in all we left on a high note.

Pictures to come.

Thank you for all your prayers I made it through Africa without getting malaria.
