joy in the little things.

 

 Today didn’t began just like any other Monday.

 

I had some extra time before I needed to leave for work this morning, which is a rarity because I’m so not a morning person… but I am working on it! I don’t have to be at work til 10, which is a beautiful thing and I now know it is God’s way of giving me plenty of extra time with Him in the mornings, which I need to start using better. That is my goal for the month.

 

but I’m getting off track…

so this morning I decided to go to Corner Bakery to do my quiet time. I had 30 minutes and couldn’t decide to get to work early and do my quiet time in the parking lot or sit down inside. You will soon realize I can’t make decisions at all, so after a long debate in my head I decided to just sit down. And so I began to read Colossians. This semi-older man walks up to me with such a sweet voice, not wanting to interrupt.  He looked maybe homeless maybe not, but I would guess a lot of people wouldn’t be very accepting of him in the part of Dallas I was in sooo I immediately liked him :]  He introduced himself as Mike and proceeded to tell me how he absolutely loved LOVED Colossians. And how it should be read with Ephesians 1 in mind and for the non-believers that Colossians 1, John 1 and Hebrews 1 are his fav to tell people.

 

It was a short 5 minute conversation, but I could totally sense his overwhelming kindness and his love for Jesus. We didn’t talk about anything about each other, just Christ. But that alone made me feel like I had made a new bff. As he walked away he said he would be praying for me and that it was so nice to meet someone who shared the same best friend as him! I love that. and I am so going to steal it and use it now :]

 

 

 

As I got into my car one of my fav songs came on the radio (Yours Alone!) and I felt so refreshed and in awe of God. It is in the little things that make you smile. I know that He was watching over me this morning and I know there was a reason for Mike and I to meet. I will probably never see him again, but he definitely made my week.

 

 

I have been hearing and learning so much lately about importance of fellowship and serving Christ and this just ties it all together. I cannot wait to have so many of these “little” encounters through my 11 months of the race. I know that not only can I look forward to them then, but I need to keep advancing the kingdom NOW and once I return. This is what it is all about. Spreading the Kingdom little by little. I hope I will be someones Mike one day to someone else!

 

I thank Mike for his boldness and love for Jesus that he came up and talked to me. I ask you all to please pray for him, for his health and his continuance to love the Lord daily. 

 

Over the last year, God has slowly began to shatter MY dreams and MY
ideal life and has begun to replace it with HIS reality and HIS truth.
I couldn’t be more excited!!!!
