my last blog i posted a general overview of my favorite moments of the race.  well traveling the world is not all roses and sunshine. there are some tough moments while moving place to place, country to country, culture to culture.

so to keep it real. here is a list of my top 10 least favorite race moments:
1. sliding down a volcano in nicaragua. this event ended with half my left butt cheek left on the rocky volcano and a near death crash where i flipped 3 to 5 times. (praise i lived and did not break a bone).
2. taking a bus from kampala, uganda to dar es salam, tanzania. it took 36 hours of being in the bus straight. where i rode the whole way in the very back of the bus perpetually suspended in the air as we hit every crack, pot hole and broken rode in africa.
3.  using cloudy water to bathe in cambodia.  i truly loved everything about that month except for the pond bath water.
4.  the smell of dill will forever make me nauseous. ukranians love dill. our host house daily reeked of this spice.
5. driving from lukodi to gulu (uganda). this was a short drive, especially in comparison to other crazy rides. but this ride was just long enough that we would get stuck in the mud from time to time all needing to lean one way or the other to unstick the van.
6. this memory also comes from uganda. we literally ate rice and beans everyday in lukodi. not a diet i would like to continue.
7. the coldest night of my life was our first night in dublin, ireland. we had just arrived for the awakening. i had previously spent the whole month in my tent in galway. but this particular night in dublin was the coldest of my life. and i did not sleep a wink.
8.  death camp. although has been redeemed in time by the hilarity of it all. at the moment this was the worst thing ever. death camp: was a teen camp we “helped” in ukraine. we were treated like children and had to fight for our food and water. it was awful.
9. our tanzania bathroom was my worst bathroom as a whole. granted it was a nice house. the bathroom was my least favorite. squatty potty and a non draining shower all in room.
10.  last month in el salvador our contact was a great guy but an awful driver. he liked to go from drive to nuetral at any given moment. this made for some scary near death experiences. no beuno.
so here it is some of my least favorite moments. but through even these moments i wouldnt change a thing. i really did love it all.
