How do you sum up a year of travel, life, community, experience, joy, heart break, and everything in between…
I dont even know where to start. What stories to tell, what experiences to share and what to leave out. There is just so much.
This has been an amazing year of life. Of falling more in love with Jesus on a daily basis. Seeing His love, strength and power around the world. Experiencing joy in trials, in fun times and those random moments where His presence just hits you like a gust of wind.
So one way I have decided to put these thoughts in order is with a list…
For starters here is my top 10 favorite WR moments:
1. Living in Thailand twice. First in Bangkok and then in Chaing Mai.
2. Snorkeling in Zanzibar. (spending Thanksgiving and my birthday in Zanzibar)
3. Making chapati with our fabulous Chef Lucas in Busia, Kenya. In the dark with the aid of our headlamps.
4. Rafting the Nile with team Shekinah.
5. Hanging out with the tattoo boys and bar girls in Chaing Mai. (getting tatted twice in Thailand)
6. Riding on the back of a boda from Gulu to Lukodi. As a storm rolled in. It was truly a spiritual experience.
7. Teaching my Cambodian English students English slang words like: totally awesome, holler and y’all.
8. Spending late nights in our hut in Uganda singing, playing spades and dreaming about life.
9. Eating at Chilis in San Salvador and the LA airport.
10. Anything and everything related to living in Galway, Ireland. Even including the night/morning our tents almost blew away from the strongest winds ever.
*alternate 10. Finding out that Kyle would be our 7th teammate for the last two months of the race.
*2nd alternate 10. Living in Antigua, Guatemala. Gorgeous, quaint, cobble stone city.
I am sure that I have missed some key moments that should be added to this list. But this is a good place to start. As I continue to think of moments good and bad I will try to post them in some type of top 10 list format.
