Yesterday marked the start of my new job at Adventures in Missions!

Yay!!

But what about seminary?

Over the past semester at the Center for Global Action, God has been gradually leading me to let go of the plan I created for my life and to trust that he has something better. It wasn’t easy, but I’ve had peace with each step of the process. Several opportunities came up, and I came close to pursuing some of them, but I knew I had to stop. I was only certain of the option to stay where I am geographically, even though a job was not guaranteed. I learned so much by trusting God and obeying him by making plans to stay in Georgia. I found out only last Thursday that I got the job.

What’s the new job?

At Adventures in Missions I will be developing relationships with ministry hosts throughout Central America and setting up ministry for mission trips for all of Adventures’ programs that take place in the region. It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to provide encouragement, prayers and teams of support to ministries throughout an entire region of the world.

I will also be working on projects for the logistics department that I am really excited about. Through my time at the Center for Global Action, God has been showing me how the gifts he’s given me can be used to help organizations reach more people while having the ability to focus on relationships rather than unnecessary tasks.

So how was the first day?

My first day began with worship, as every Monday morning at the office does. I was then welcomed with flowers and other surprises by my new coworkers. I then began to gain some context for the many ministries we work with in my region.

After work my church had the first night of a prayer ministry I’m involved in, and it went so well!

Overall, I’m overwhelmed by the goodness of God. He takes care of us and knows exactly what we need and where we need to be.

How can I receive stories, updates and pictures?

I’m so glad you asked! I would love to send a newsletter by mail to you! If you have never received anything from me by mail, please email me (s[email protected]) your home address so that I can send you some more exciting news, pictures and stories!

Thank you to those whose faithful prayers have been felt throughout this process. I’m so thankful for my supporters!
