“Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!” Luke 12:24

One major expectation I have for the World Race is that God will teach me to trust Him and stop anticipating what will happen. This is not something that comes naturally to me. I’m a huge fan of planning for the future. I’ve always been very good at setting deadlines for myself, I have a personal budget that I created on Excel, I’m already planning retirement, I have even created my own chart for preparing for this trip! But God feeds the ravens (who seldom contribute to an IRA,) He will take care of my needs.

Of course I have expectations and even some worries–building a strong community within my team, learning from the least, changing my perspective of the world, possibly running out of my favorite toiletries, if can I really pull off a bandana… but I believe all of this falls short of what the World Race will be like.  I am hoping to not let my planning distract me from the amazing things God is doing today, even before I go on this incredible adventure around the world!
