So I’m back at the daily prayers for each country on my route. This won’t quite line up to the country I’ll actually be in this time next year, but for each country I’ll be traveling too I’ll give you about 25 days worth of prayer starting with November 1st, and covering each day until Launch next August.
Please join me in praying for the things on the list each day. As always we’ll start with a few facts. I challenge you to find your own neat facts about each country by researching it or talking to someone who is from the country. This first country we will launch to next August is India…
India…
is located in Southern Asia
is slightly more than 1/3 the size of the United States
covers almost 3.3million km and has a population just over 1.2 billion people
has about 7,000 km of coastline
is along the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
Nov 1st: Pray for my new squad mates, that we would be seeking after the Lord through this entire process, leading up to launch, and while on our route next year.
Nov 2nd: Pray for the people of India, pray that their hearts would be prepared for our arrival there next August, that their hearts and minds would be open to the Gospel.
Nov 3rd: Pray for the 2.3% of the population that claim Christianity as their religious affiliation, that they would be God’s light in their circles of people. Pray for the 79.8% that are Hindus and 14.2% that are Muslims, that the seed of the Gospel would be planted in their hearts and they would come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Nov 4th: Pray for the health of the people of India, as there is a lousy 0.7 physicians per 1000 population.
Nov 5th: Pray for the 12% of children that are child laborers, that their services would not be necessary and they could instead pursue and focus on their education, and enjoy childhood.
Nov 6th: Pray for the leadership of India, specifically the President, to lead the people of India in the ways that God leads/desires for India.
Nov 7th: Pray against the most common natural hazards to India, which include: droughts, flash floods, monsoonal rains, severe thunderstorms, and earthquakes.
Nov 8th: Pray for the health of my squad and I as we are in India next August, that we would remain healthy and would be able to not contract any diseases. (The degree of risk is very high, and the major infectious diseases include: bacteria diarrhea, Hep A and E, typhoid fever, dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, malaria, and rabies)
Nov 9th: Pray for the 52.8% of arable land that God would allow it to produce an abundance of crop that could be used for food, and sales in order to provide income. Pray also for the 4.2% of permanent crop land that it would prove fruitful in the coming year. Pray also for the 3.2% of pasture land that it would remain useful for pasturing the animals of the country that count on that land for survival.
Nov 10th: Pray for the almost 30% of the population that is below the poverty line, that they would find the resources necessary to strive in life.
Nov 11th: On what we call World Race day (11/11….11 in 11) pray for all of those on route around the world today, that they would be God’s light to those they are serving.
Nov 12th: Pray for the 43.5% of children under 5 that are underweight, that they would gain the necessary weight to be at a normal, healthy weight, and are able to avoid the other health concerns that come with being underweight.
Nov 13th: Pray for my squad as we are in India next August to be able to share the Gospel of God and His light with the people we come in contact with. Pray also that we would be servants to those we are interacting with on a daily basis.
Nov 14th: Pray for the industries (textiles, food processing, chemicals, steel, transportation equipment, mining, cement, petroleum, machinery, software, and pharmaceuticals) of India to boom in the coming year.
Nov 15th: Pray against the current environmental issues which include: deforestation, over grazing, air pollution, tap water not being potable throughout the country, and the growing population straining the natural resources.
Nov 16th: Pray for India’s military (Navy, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard). Pray for the women who feel led to fight for India, that they would be the pilots the country has ever had and that the country would allow them to enter into all combat roles and give them equality in serving their country alongside their male counterparts.
Nov 17th: Pray for the agricultural products to be in excess in the coming year in order to continue to grow the economy of India. Some of these products include: rice, wheat, oilseed, cotton, juice, tea, sugarcane, lentils, onions, potatoes, dairy products, sheep, poultry, and fish.
Nov 18th: Pray for my squad, that we would be able to stay present where we are, but also enjoy community and getting to know each other through group messages.
Nov 19th: Pray for the 200,000 refugees/displaced persons from countries such as China, Sri Lanka, Burma, and Afghanistan currently residing in India, that they would be able to return to their homelands as so desired, and that while in India they would feel included and welcomed.
Nov 20th: Pray for the country’s export relationships with the United States, United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong. Pray also for their import relationships with China, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and the United States.
Nov 21st: Pray for the unknown amounts of opium that are taken from the licit pharmaceutical purposes for illicit international drug markets. Pray that the people involved in this moving of what is being created as licit opium would feel convicted and stop. Pray for those who are effected by choosing to indulge in this illicit opium, that God would preserve their lives and they would feel convicted to stop using.
Nov 22nd: Pray for the 1.2 million (3rd highest amount of any country in the world) out of the 2 billion population who live with HIV/AIDS, along with the about 67,000 (3rd highest of any country in the world) deaths resulting from HIV/AIDS yearly. Pray for healing, pray for a stop to be put on the spread of the HIV/AIDS, pray for relief for those affected and their families.
Nov 23rd: Pray for whatever adventure our squad chooses to experience and enjoy while in India. Pray for our safety, that no one would get injured and that we would be able to do ministry and enjoy that time, but also enjoy our time off exploring and participating in the adventure related stuff India has to offer.
Nov 24th: Pray for my squads travel to and throughout India, whatever transportation we use while in the country, that we would stay safe and arrive wherever we are going safely so that we can focus on sharing God while there.
(Pray also today that my squad and I would be able to enjoy Thanksgiving with our families and loved ones, not focused on being separated next Thanksgiving, but grateful for being together this year.)
Nov 25th: Pray for the ministries with which my squad and I will be working with while we are in India. Pray that we would be able to serve them in whatever capacity they most need while we are there with them.
