Hello all! As most of you know at this point, I will be going on the World Race. I will be launching August 2016. But…

What is the World Race?

Basically it is an 11-month Mission trip which visits 11 different countries (that’s basically one country per month). Along this journey I will get to serve the Lord in many ways. The list of ways is not only to long to list, but also will vary based on the needs of the ministry we are serving at the time we are serving them, so I cannot tell you right now exactly what all my ministry will entail.

I mean, can you tell me what you will be doing next August, or February 2017?

What I can tell you is that I will be serving my Lord and Savior in whatever way He puts in front of me. For those of you who may not know me well, one of my favorite sayings I’ve heard in “the Christian life” is

“My yes is on the table.”

Basically, for me, that is saying Lord, I’m here and I’m yours. Take my yes and put it wherever you want, doing whatever you want, for however long you want. For this next chapter of my life that means going on the World Race.

But why the World Race?

This past summer I went on a mission trip to Puerto Rico. I have always loved mission trips and I have always loved serving others. I have wanted for a while to work in ministry full time in some way. Upon returning I began researching how I could change from teaching to more full time ministry specific to meeting the needs of others, or what ministry I could begin working with or for. After lots of research and prayer and deciding that I was to continue teaching and coaching this current year, I researched some more and finally came across the World Race. I immediately fell in love with the idea and prayed about whether it was something God would have me do. I then determined it was something I could pursue and began praying about which route to apply to and when to apply. I finally applied and was accepted to launch August 2016 on Route 2 which will go to

Lesotho

Swaziland

South Africa

Vietnam

Thailand

Cambodia

Nicaragua
