The last week has been a crazy whirlwind.  I think that I’ve spent more time traveling in a combi, taxi, tuk-tuk, bus, and/or truck than standing on my own two feet.  Not only have I slept in a different bed for each of the last 6 nights, but in 6 different cities (Candelaria, Jinotepe, Leon, Managua, San Salvador and Antigua) in 3 different countries (Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala).

My time in Candelaria, Nicaragua with Team Kiatera came to a close the end of last week. To read more about New Song Missions (the ministry we worked with), click here.   Kiatera will continue to pour into the youth for two more weeks before our stay in Central America comes to a close.  Many of you may have read about our incident of being robbed by some of the youth in the community.   Instead of writing a blog myself, I am going to direct you to some of the humerous and serious blogs written by my teammates about this ‘event’.  The Lord is using Kiatera to demonstrate both his mercy and justice in the face of deliberate injustice.  Please read the following blogs to get the full story and various thoughts from Kiatera members:  Lisa – Robbed in Nicaragua…the Full Story,  Lindsay – The Break In, Katie – Ladron! …part 1, Krystle – A True Picture of Grace…

Over the weekend, Krystle accompanied me to Jinotepe and Diriamba – into the heart of where the Lord wrecked me last year on the World Race – the dumps.   It was two days of encouragement and encouraging.  Most of the community members had no idea I was coming.  I was often met with a blank stare that turned into a confused look – but soon my face, followed by my name, would register in their minds and they would lunge at me with open arms and a huge smile yelling “Estefani!”   I am working on a three part blog about this weekend that will be posted shortly!

This weekend was followed by a three day travel stint up to Guatemala.  For the next two weeks I will be visiting two other teams on the squad – the G:racers in Antigua and BOLD in Panajachel.  I also aim to spend some time personally debriefing the past month before we are off to Asia.

As I mentioned earlier, Team Kiatera is my main ‘home’ or ‘family’ for the year.  Lisa put together a great video of some of our times together so far on the race.  Enjoy!
