So, I’m in love with Africa – or Mozambique at least. It’s black and white. It is what you see. But do you see? In Africa, the supernatural pervades the natural on a daily basis. Are my spiritual eyes open? The blind see. The deaf hear. Sore, crippled backs are transformed into dancing bodies. Frowns are turned upside down as joy bubbles from an overflowing heart. I see this everyday. A revival is here. The Holy Spirit is taking over Mozambique – individual by individual. The supernatural manifests and touches the natural. Do you see? It is black and white…but do I see?
Setting: refugee camp…displacement lingers in the hearts of the grandpas, mothers and children. Music blasts from the speakers. Grasping dirty hands, we dance around in circles. Forty bare feet, including my own, shuffle over the scorching noonday sand. In the midst of “unsettlement”, joy lives here. In the midst of starvation, joy lives here. For about 2 ½ months these individuals have been without a home. The flood (Zambezee River) stole everything they own: house, crops, material possessions, health, family members…yet their joy remains as they daily persevere through their circumstances. They have each other. And after the morning sermon, about 100 more have Christ.
Christ lives in a refugee camp in the heart of Mozambique. He dwells in the heart of His children. We are His temple – the Holy Spirit lives in us. Revival is here…it is alive within each of us! Christ died to set the captives free and heal the broken-hearted. The supernatural manifests in the natural. God wants to bring His glory. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done – on earth as it is in heaven.
As the gospel is preached, the heavens open and the Holy Spirit drops upon His people. God is working and His spirit is moving. Revival. But do I see it? It’s black and white. It’s real. Discernment, Lord. Where are you already at work? I want to join You.
God chooses to use willing, obedient hearts, minds, hands. His people are a channel between the natural and the supernatural. What an honor to be able to be an ambassador of Christ. In the last week, after prayer, faith, fasting, the laying of hands – God blessed his children by healing them. Before our own eyes, the blind saw , the deaf heard, sore backs and stomach aches disappeared…thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The book of Acts literally came alive in the heart of Mozambique. Revival is here!
Do I see? Do you see? Our eyes might be open wide, yet not perceive. With what eyes are we looking? The natural or supernatural? Close your eyes and ask God to open the eyes of your heart – then we will see as Christ sees. It’s all black and white. It either is or isn’t. God is. Christ is. The Holy Spirit is. Africa is revival.
