My name is Steph and I’m 25 years old. I grew up in a small WV town in a pretty average, church attending family. Life was fairly typical until 6th grade. For the next ten years there was quite a bit of turmoil in the Davis home. Through it all though, God has been faithful and I have learned that I can trust His heart even when I don’t see His hand.
At 23 I moved to Michigan for a year and a half before finding my way to the great city of Atlanta. I had every intention of settling here and finally enjoying a “normal” life. But, God’s intentions are anything but normal. My first week here, He issued me a challenge, “Take risks with your heart.” This was the scariest thing He has called me to yet and I couldn’t imagine what this would be in preparation for.
Since I have been in Georgia, my Lord has been showing me how to take His love to people in practical and relevant ways. In the midst of this God has been subtly refocusing my attention, redefining my idea of what life should be.
Now, after only six months in Atlanta, I find myself making preparations to abandon what normalcy I have found. I cannot wait to break out of my cubicle and chase my Jesus around the globe. My heart longs to see God do things that I didn’t even know He could do, and as a bonus I get to be part of His doing it!
A few fun facts about me: I have an awesome older brother named Mike; he is one of my favorite people hang out with. I have had the same best friend since second grade- that’s right, second grade! I am a sucker for all things chocolate. I love chai lattes, sleeping in, and reading books that take me to a different time and place. I jumped out of a plane at 14,000 feet with no fear, but don’t expect me to sit through any movie scarier than The Wizard of Oz. I look forward to eating food from all over the world, making friends on multiple continents and getting to know my Father better than ever.
