This morning we arrived in Palenque!  After riding on numerous buses for 2 days, we were all ready for a bus break.

Families sitting on benches. Couples holding hands as they stroll through the bus terminal.  Children laughing as they chase each other.  Old bag ladies sorting through the trash cans.  This was the bus station scene for the last few days.  My awareness is heightened as

But who do I go to?  Just because there is need, doesn´t necessarily mean that is my call.  The call is God´s voice.  By being close to Him and feeling his nudging…¨”go talk to that person”.

God let me into the lives of two young women.  I met Victoria at the first bus stop.  She was about 16 with dark hair and eyes.  She was trying to earn her bus fare down to southern mexico..and this involved prostitution.  As we talked she seemed very jumpy and was always looking around.  She was starved for attention. For someone to tell her that she is beautiful and that God created her in her image.  She did not want to accept the Lord into her life at the moment (the police were around), but she eagerly accepted my prayers.  I told her that I would be praying for her and she wanted that very much.  Please pray for Victoria and the seed that has been planted.

I was blessed by Rocio.  She is a 23 year old from Villahermosa. She shared her beautiful voice with many of us.  We were playing the guitar and singing in the bus station, when she came up and sat down by us.  I gravitated towards her and we were able to talk for about an hour and a half.  She was on her way up to visit her her parents.  Her father was extremebly sick.  As the conversation continued.  She shared that her husband of 8 years  left her four months ago…and took her two young children with him.  Nobody knew about this.  Tears formed in her eyes as she looked at me for hope and a word of assurance.  Once again, I had nothing to give her.  I felt helpless.  The only thing I had was Jesus and the hope and refuge that is found in him.  We prayed together.

I know that throughout the year I am going to be blessed by sharing conversations and intimate stories with individuals around the world.  And many times I will feel helpless.  But I do have one thing to give everyone.  Jesus and the hope that is found only in Him.  As I remain in Him, I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to lead me into peoples lives who are searching and grant me the obedience to share this hope with them!  For it is laying at his feet and letting Him bring me to my feet in obedience that true harvest is found.  Pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to work in the lives of Victoria and Rocio.
