Hey all,
Firstly, a quick update on the sponsor child blog that I posted last week:
We now have 56 children sponsored this month, including sponsorships from World Racers!!
Praise God, who has unexpectedly given us this avenue of supporting Pastor Joseph's ministry and moved so many people's hearts to give what is His to His children!
These sponsorships are a great blessing to the children. For example, last week we visited a young woman whose husband had recently died. She and her husband used to dabble in witchcraft but now that he has passed away, she decided to become a Christian. With her little store selling a meagre handful of produce, she had no idea how she would send her 4 school-aged children to school. We found out that all 4 have now been sponsored to go to Champion Christian School!
There is another story of a young boy, 5 years old, who lives right across from the church/school compound. Even though he lived a minute away from school, his mom had no money to send him there. He would always come to the church service, but not to school. Now, he has been sponsored to join the Baby Class at Champion Christian. His mother, who is not a Christian, is very grateful. This family will hever forget the kindness that has been done for them.

Another thing, the last few times I wrote about missing some comforts of home, such as new clothes and movies. Right after I wrote that, my teammate gave me 3 new T-shirts. I was also able to copy some movies from her. And then, during church service last Sunday, Pastor gave us all new red T-shirts with the words "Christ Ambassadors" emblazoned across the back! As if that wasn't enough, Aunt Flo, the grandmother of Mwesigwa whom I sponsored, gave me 2 new T-shirts! I can't believe I'm writing this, but on the Race a new T-shirt is like gold. =) God is good, He really does provide!

Lastly, I just want to update you all on the next month on the Race. We will be on a flight to Bangkok, Thailand tomorrow at 8pm. Please pray for smooth connecting flights and travel mercies!
The women of Team Deep Roots will be joining with the women from two other teams in Chiang Mai, where we will be doing bar ministry. The men of X-squad will be having "Manistry month", and will be working on a goat farm in a rural village while having time to build each other up as men. We are all excited for what next month will hold! Thank you for your continued prayers for all of us on X-squad!
