Have you ever been so excited about something, that you feel like you could burst if you couldn’t tell someone?? That’s how I feel these days! Let me just say that this blog is long overdue. I could have written a blog every week, no—every day of how God is providing and blessing me so much as I prepare to launch in a week and a half!

I want to start out by saying that this recent financial deadline was a lot better than my first! I had my second deadline last week, and I met and passed it with time to spare! The weekend before the money was due, I had a fundraiser called a “Zumbathon”, which is like a marathon, but instead of running, you dance. At that point, I needed to raise $467 dollars to make my financial goal. God’s hand was on it and that day I made $465! The next day I was given a few more donations at my church, which meant I had surpassed my goal!
That next week I started a Chick-fil-A raffle fundraiser. The local operator had donated free food that I am CURRENTLY SELLING tickets for! 😉 The drawing is August 31 and this fundraiser has been amazing too! Everyone’s gotta eat, and who doesn’t LOVE Chick-fil-A??
This brings us to last weekend. I organized a date night at my church. Parents could bring their kids to the church for babysitting while they went on a date, and the proceeds would go to my trip. I had everything organized. I had the space. I had the manpower. I even had snacks. What I didn’t have: KIDS!! Not one person showed up!! Haha! But guess how much money I made? $135!! They few people that came to help babysit bought Chick-fil-A raffle tickets, so I ended up making money without even watching one, single child. That night was still a success in my eyes!
I could go on and on about how money just keeps falling into my lap either with donations or opportunities to earn money, not because of anything I’m doing, but because God is blessing me! And it’s not all financial blessings.
He’s blessing me with time. I have a lot of free time these days for me to spend time with Him just reading, praying, shopping/packing, and meeting with people to talk about the race or what God’s been teaching me recently.
He’s blessing me with support. My family and friends leave me speechless. They come from out of town to spend time with me. They support most, if not all, of my fundraisers. They go with me to see my last Braves game for the year. They listen to me tell them everything that’s going on in my life and in my head. They pray for me when I experience spiritual warfare. They throw going away parties for me. They surprise me with one of my favorite desserts– bananas foster! (Ok, last example just shows how easily excited I get for small, thoughtful details.)

I could literally write a book of everything God is doing around me in preparing me to go on this crazy, life-changing journey! I also realize that this is just the tip of the iceberg of what I will be experiencing with God in these next 11 months! Less than 2 weeks to go!!
