I
am writing this blog as honest as I can right now…
It
has taken me weeks to post this blog and I have realized that time is
running out and God has been asking me to write this a long time ago, so I am
finally getting up the courage to sit here to share my heart with you.
I
am having a really hard time with the financial aspect of my trip and asking
for help financially right now. Having to write a blog such as this is a
completely humbling experience for me.
I
realize that this is not the best time to ask for financial support because we
could all use some help in that area of our lives, especially with the holidays
coming up and the economy the way it is. However, I know that God has placed me
here at this time for a reason. I believe God is calling me to dig deeper, seek
and obey what He is calling me to do and ask of you. He is challenging me and
is breaking down my walls of pride and independence. If I could I would
personally pay my own way for this mission trip just so I wouldn’t have to ask
of others, but as a missionary, that is not the point and the lesson God is
trying to teach me, nor what He has called me to do. As a missionary, I am
called to preach His word and to fully rely on and trust in Him in every
area and aspect of my life.
He
is making me realize that I cannot do all
of this on my own and it is through the help and support of others that His
will is going to be done.
Here
is where I currently stand:
I
was informed that I need to have $8,280 physically in my account by Jan. 3rd.
The rest of my funds need to be accounted for in pledges. It does not have to
physically be in my account but it does need to be accounted for, which is
$7,720 in pledges alone.
As
of today, November 30th, I have $6,919.59 in my account and $75.00
in pledges.
This
means I STILL NEED: $1,360.41
in my account and $7,195 in
pledges by Jan. 3rd.
If
the $8,280 is not in my account and the $7,720 is not accounted for in pledges,
I will not be flying out on January 4th.
This
is huge. God has called me to this and I know without a doubt He is going to
provide, but I know that He is asking me to step out of my comfort zone, humble
myself before Him and have me bring to your attention what He has maybe already
asked of you or put on your heart. It is through people like you that His will
is going to be done and this life that He has called me to will be fulfilled.
I
have calculated that if 35 people supported me $20 a month for 11 months [from
Jan-Nov], my trip would be paid in full!!
Will
