Dropped off at birth, left by their parents, neglected, malnourished, and affected by HIV/AIDS waiting for someone to want to take them home. Seeking love, comfort and compassion.
These are the stories of the children at the New Life Home an orphanage in Nakuru. We walk into the orphanage to see twenty children sitting around a table eating popcorn very well behaved and excited to see us. As they finish eating they go outside to play as they run up to you and grab your hand and pull you along
with them. We spent an entire day with these precious children and it was such a humbling experience.
All these children seek (other than a home) was love, our love, and love of our father, every day they learn about Jesus and they have childlike faith. They come running into your hands wanting picked up, spun around, and to have their hand held; they seek love something we all seek and desire, they just want to be loved by others and a family.
And as these kids may not have an earthly father right now and possibly won’t ever; they do have a heavenly father who loves them passionately and we got to show them that when we visited. We got to share some of our saviors love with them, pour into them, and give them compassion letting them know how incredibly special they are.
We spent the day with them preparing them for meals, serving them, helping them clean up, cleaning their mess, preparing them for naps and helping the workers as they woke up from their naps, playing with them outside, playing with bubbles, balls, and chasing them around picking them up tossing them up in the air and just hugging them, tickling them, and occasionally giving them kisses on the cheek.
This kids were extra special, very loving and some of my favorite kids, before the race my dream was to volunteer in a home in another country like the one we visited I looked into places where I could volunteer and live and even sent emails back and forth with some administration people I thank God for that is no longer where he is calling though I would love it, he knows that it wasn’t meant for me and would be too hard, I would build relationships with children just to have them taken away from me.
