It was just a normal day, we start out the day in prayer but this morning I was being selfish, I was asking God
‘Father why am I even here, I am getting tired and burnt out I feel like we are doing the same thing every day every month and its month six I would just like some good quality rest!! Today I want you to show me why you called me here’
So we loaded up the van and drove one hour into the bush, as I sit there listening to some worship I am amazed at God that he blessed me that this is my life, how in the world did I deserve something like this, it was absolutely beautiful, I was in Malaysia in the ‘jungle’ and amazed at Gods goodness and that I am living this life, I felt like the luckiest girl ever!
So we continue to go deeper and deeper into the jungle, I look around and see rubber trees, a river, huts, and lots of wild life and palm trees, it was beautiful and parts of it made me feel like I was at home visiting family in West Virginia.
After driving through winding narrow bumpy roads we arrive to a home, with kids staring out the window, ‘oh lord they are so cute please let this be where we are going’ we get out of the car and start walking, praise God we were going to the home with the children.
We are greeted by babies and lots of them!! We enter the house meeting everyone and then we do introductions. The father and mother live in the home, and they had five beautiful girls, but those girls have
grown up into woman, four of them married and with children and the other only 11 years old. Each one of the mothers holding their child proudly, and the fathers holding their second or third child.
They showed such great love for their children, they adored them, they were proud of them, and they never let them out of their sight, they would crawl away and they would bring them back to them, it was like Gods love for us, immeasurable, he desires us, loves us, adores us, and when his sheep start to wander he always rescues them and brings them back to his side.
What started as 2 people living in a home became 7 and then quickly became 11 and now 17 and more to join. In this tribe when you become married you always live with the wife’s parents so you could imagine what a little cement home looks like in the middle of the jungle with 17 people living in it. But it was full of so much love and joy.
These people are new believers May marks their one year birthday. Their mother was sick and she wanted to be better so she went to a witch doctor for healing but she wasn’t healed so she met a Christian they prayed for her, and she was healed of her sickness, she knew that the only thing that could of healed her was God, so her and her family went to church and accepted Christ. Now they are the only believers in their whole tribe and take motor bikes for an hour to get to church.
Though living in a dark places full of witchcraft, Muslims, Buddhists and people who don’t know Christ can be very draining they haven’t lost any faith, every day the seek the Lord more and more so I shared with them Ephesians 3:14-19 and what a blessing it was to see a family rooted in Christ and his love, His presence filled that home and their hearts. They were full of love, joy, happiness, and open servant’s hearts. They knew Christ and he dwelled in them, they were the light in a dark community, and disciples of the village and God will continue to grow them in their faith and I know they will do amazing and huge things in their village. Every Friday they have church in their home, pray that God will multiply the number of believers in their tribe and the number that comes to church.
The youngest girl who is married is 17 years old she has one beautiful baby girl named Ester and by the
time she is my age of 20 years old she will have at least one more child and this blew my mind, this girl knows love better than I do because she understands what is like to love her children like God loves His children. Could you imagine being a mother at 17 already married and taking care of a family?
I praise God for these beautiful people and that he gave me the opportunity to share with them his love and truth. I had so much joy in my heart as soon as we pulled up to their house and I didn’t want to leave, I knew this is why God had me here.. for moments like these.
