I want to start out by thanking everyone who has supported me either financially or through prayer for my missions trip to 11 different countries. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of people around me and this trip would not be possible without the generous support of others. I have had family, friends, strangers, friends who are also doing the world race, member from my church and so many more people who have donated to me and I can’t thank you enough for your support.

It is still a little surreal to me that I leave in only two weeks time. I still feel so unprepared and it hasn’t really sunk in that I am leaving for 11 months yet. I don’t really know how I feel yet about leaving. I am excited for what God has in store for me for this next year. I am sad to be leaving my friends and family. I am anxious to start this journey but also not feeling totally ready or prepared. I still have to pack up my whole house, pack for the trip and take care of some last minute things that need and it is just starting to hit me how soon I leave.

Now I want to take some time to introduce my amazing team that I will be doing ministry with. I am so excited to travel and grow and do ministry with these women and can’t wait to get to know them all better. I was a little anxious waiting to find out who my team would be at training camp. Not that there was anyone I didn’t want to be with but more just anxious about the unknown but I was so excited the minute my team was announced. All these girls have such great hearts and are so on fire for God and I think we will just have a lot of fun together.

Laura Ficken- Is the wonderful team leader who was a school teacher to junior high kids before deciding to go on the race. I have to say it takes a certain type of person to do that job but from what I know of her I am sure she is an amazing teacher. She is fun and sarcastic but also a very humble leader and I think I will learn a lot from her

Breanna Witveot- Is my Chicago girl who I already love dearly. We bonded instantly at the airport waiting to be taken to training camp and I can already tell we are going to be great friends. She is a country girl through and through who has already proven to be reliable and organized (something I will probably need help with) and just has such a great heart

Jenny Muller- Is a personal trainer from the big city of New York (so I am hoping to visit her after the race because seriously who doesn’t want to go to New York). I am excited to hopefully get into better shape with her on my team and play some intense card games. She has an inspiring story and I am just amazed by her inward strength and spirit of perseverance

Alexis Coryell- Alexis is from the beautiful state of Florida and recently graduated. She applied later in the game and only decided to come a few weeks before training camp- which is crazy to me but I also think it is awesome that she was just willing to dive completely in right off the bat. I think Alexis will be great at planning things and getting things done and I love her willingness to just jump into a situation and commit to things. She has such a kind heart and fun personality and I can’t wait to get to know her more

Amber Jackson- Amber is one of those people who is just cool and hip and lots of fun to hang out with. She teaches yoga so I am hoping to become more flexible and better at balancing through her training but we will see if that happens. I love Amber’s openness and willingness to be honest even if it is something that is hard for people to hear and I think I will be able to learn a lot from her on this trip

So here is a little about the people that I will be traveling with. Our team name is Agape Warriors and we are ready to fearlessly travel into the world and be a light to the nations and share Gods love with all the people we are blessed to come into contact with. You can follow their blogs by going to the “meet my team” link on the side of my blog.
