Hey Folks!
I just wanted to tell everyone a little about myself. My name is Stefani Brewster and I am 21 years old and currently residing in the beautiful city of Calgary, Alberta Canada. I grew up in a small town (Innisfail, Alberta) and never saw myself as a city girl but I have slowly fallen in love with the city life and LOVE Calgary. I am a HUGE extrovert. The thought of being alone for long periods of time terrifies me (so I guess the 24 hr community that the Race offers will be great for me). I love adventure. I love trying new things, going to new paces, meeting new people and just experiencing the more of life.
I love to laugh. Laughter is one of God’s greatest gifts to us and maybe the reason I love children so much is there easy ability to laugh at things and just the simple view they have of life. I get along great with children because I am such a child myself. I love dancing in the rain, I love making sand castles at the beach, I love cathcing fireflys at night, making smores around the campfire, exploring nature, having water fights and the list could go on and on.
I love to run. I love to go on hikes and just be in the beautiful outdoors that God created. I wish I could say that I love bugs but sadly this is not the case. The Race may stretch me with the new bugs and creatures that I will come into contact with and possibly share my living quarters with.
I can be described as a very dynamic or energetic or passionate person (you take your pick of word). Small things excite me greatly. I am constantly trying to find new people to go on adventures with and try new things. People love to scare me or surprise me because they say I give the best reactions. I guess I am just not a very subtle person.
I am a true Canadian through and through. I am not a fan of the cold but I do love Canada. I love Tim Horton’s. I love watching hockey (although growing up I always pretended to hate it), I love the Rocky Mountains, I love that we have loonies and toonies instead of $1 bills (sorry Americans they are just better). All in all I just really love my country and will always proudly wear my Canadian Flag and flaunt my northern blood. But I have nothing against American’s and I love learning about new cultures and places and am SO excited to meet so many people from all over the world.
I love to share and hear people’s stories. Our testimonies our a gift to the world. I don’t remember a single story I have heard that has not left me encouraged and feeling closer to God. I have had trouble sharing my story because for the longest time I didn’t think it was interesting and then it was just to painful and I was ashamed to share my story. But over the past couple years I have realized that my story is a story of redemption, a story of how God can take broken families and relationships and make it into something beautiful, even if it is nothing like I would have expected it. I am excited to share my story with my squad and those I meet and I can’t wait to share about the transformations in my life that take place during the race that you can read about in my blog.
Other things I love include; coffee, chocolate, Dr. Pepper, doing puzzles, Sudoku, Bop It, random facts, star gazing, reading, basketball, swimming, taking pictures, social media, wooden jewlery, leggings, and camping.
Well that is pretty much me in a nutshell.
