We have been in Buenos Aires, Argentina for about 4 days now.  It has been a restful time for our team as we came off an intense month in Peru.  We have been working on establishing contacts here in Argentina as well as taking time to catch up on life (aka. emails, phone calls home, laundry, etc) before heading out to Africa tomorrow.  We also had the chance yesterday to take in some of the local flavor!  Check out a few things Buenos Aires has to offer…

Many of you know I used to be a pirate so this boat tickled me pink.  We got to tour the inside and it reminded me of my days on the high seas.

Later in the afternoon we went to a futbol game!  I have never been to a stadium soccer game so this was a blast.  The team was named Boca.  This cleared up a lot of questions I had about signs all over town reading, “Boca es mi passion” which directly translated means “mouth is my passion.”  But alas, it merely speaks of a loyal fans feelings towards their soccer team.

Tomorrow we fly out for Johannesburg, South Africa.  It will be a long three days of flying (although who can complain about a 12 hour layover in London?)  Plans for our itinerary have been changing so much I didn’t want to announce it until I was more certain of where we would be going.  But now is as good a time as ever!

At the start of the year, the plan was to spend a month in South Africa and then proceed to Swaziland and then Kenya.  However, recently there have been major flooding in Mozambique due to a cyclone that happened two months ago.  Even now, people are still without shelter and food.  The Lord has opened up an opportunity for both teams to go and do work in Mozambique for a month where we will be able to meet an immediate physical need.  Here is a message from our contact there:

“…I have arranged for 20 of the WR’s to go to Dondo, it is impossible for them to accommodate more, there are enormous logistical problems and only two young American ladies running the base with little logistical back ground, the water situation at the base is critical and the team will have to buy drinking water from Beira on the coast 20 miles from Dondo, there is plenty of local transport between Dondo and Beira.

The rest of the team will go to Vilanculos and work with the AOG church at their mission base, this is the area that was hit by the cyclone two month ago, houses, schools, church buildings have all been destroyed in an area twenty miles wide from the coast inland to Zimbabwe. There is tremendous ministry opportunity within walk distance of the base, transport is a problem”

After Mozambique, we will then travel to Swaziland and then to South Africa to do ministry. As many of you know, my second home is Africa so I am eager to get there and be involved.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.  They are not in vain!

All my love!!!
