Prepare yourself to view some very bland looking pictures…knowing that these places and events are real and life changing. But lots of sand included.
Our last day of ministry was yesterday where we had the opportunity to view the fruits of our labor from the past week. We were finally given the ¨go ahead¨to build a church in Lomo de Corvina. Praise Jesus! We bought all the supplies we could with the money that was donated for the project and got going! Filling sand bags, pounding nails and painting, it was an intense week of work. But we were able to put a church up that would be a meeting place that the people of Lomo have been craving. Set on a hill, most of the peole of Lomo don´t bother going to church because all the decent churches are too far away. Providing with them with a close place of meeting will change their lives. I am confident of this.

Imagine this…pounding planks of wood into an endless sand pit. Good thing there is no rain and virtually no wind here. I recall a childhood Sunday School song I once sang…¨Don´t build your house on the sandy land, don´t build it too near the shore. Well it might be kind of nice, but you will have to build it twice. Yes, you´ll have to build your house once more.¨ Although, no worries. This church is built on a rock! (Jesus Christ!)

We put a fresh coat of paint on (of course, after Rober and I had a little fun)

If you ask me, beige is probably not the best color choice. It blends right in. I would have chosen a perky blue or green. hehe.

We weren´t able to put the entire roof on yesterday due to lack of funds. But we got a big chunk finished!

We were honored to be able to help out the community in this way. We had our first church service there last Sunday and the people of Lomo seem intrigued by this new church. So pray for the church in Lomo de Corvina. I believe the Lord will do awesome things within these walls and in this city.
We head out Friday morning for Machu Piccu. Pray for our teams as we reunite that our time would be sweet and that our debrief time would be beneficial and restful.
Ciao!
