We made it safetly to Lima, Peru last Saturday. Our schedule has been packed and we have been loving our partnering church. I will post more on our time here later. But I wanted to bring closure to our time in Guatemala and share with you some pictures of the beautiful people and places we encountered…

The first tortilla I ever made…eeek.

Beautiful Lake Atitlan (Our village is on the right side of the volcano on the right)

These boys came over every day..we fed them a lot of pineapple.

Team 61 and our friend, Benedicto the painter.

Our favorite missionaries in Guatemela, Glenn and Judy Stewart. Facebook brought us together and they blessed our socks off!

Teaching English, 4th grade.

5th grade

The view from our pad. I wish I could capture on film the beauty and hugeness of this Lake, but it was impossible. It is a place you really have to see with your own eyes.

Some of the students at the school
Overall, my experience in San Juan, Guatemala was unforgettable. I realized that English is a crazy language to teach (I mean, truly why is it that “I WANT to go to the store” but “She WANTS to go to the store.” Haha. I learned more about serving my team and becoming selfless (We have often compared our team to an arranged marriage…we committ to loving eachother even when it is hard and we learn what it means to live in community) and what ministry can look like when fully surrendured to the Lord. The smiles of the children and the refreshing natural beauty of Lake Atitlan will stay with me forever. And to all the friends and missionaries and locals we met along the way…you made our time in Guatemala great!! Thank you!
