10. Learning how to wash my clothes over a rock in the river (with the national ladies laughing at our every move!)
9. Getting bit on my legs and feet and scratching so hard I’ve accrued more scabs and nasty looking bites that I look like a leper.
8. Swimming down at the water hole with the kids and teaching them how to play “Grande Pescado, Pequeno Pescado!” (Big fish, little fish…otherwise known as sharks and minnos) and failing miserably at teaching them Marco Polo.
7. Peanut butter turns from a novelty to a necessity.
6. Dancing with kids in our arms after church.
5. Learning that only eating one tortilla per meal is out of the ordinary and to be considered fulfilled, one must eat between 10 and 12 per meal. Yikes!
4. Star gazing on the water tower.
3. Watching Katie break her chair when she found the head of a chicken in her soup.
2. Girls night out with the kids in our house…popcorn, giving manicures and pedicures to the gals.
1. Amazing times of prayer and ministry: kids church, house visits, prayer over sick and unsaved, playing with kids, lovin on adults, and learning more about the Mexican culture. Praise God for a hard, joyful and fruitful time in Arroyo Palenque. On to Guatemala!!
