Deep calls out to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.

Deep calls out to deep in the roar of your waterfalls
All your waves and breakers have swept over me
I’m left standing there in the place where years ago I couldn’t reach the bottom
And though my clothes are still damp and at least my toes are still covered
I must confess that it’s no longer enough
Where I once found refreshment I find it no more
And where I struggled to stay afloat now I stand on the water
I don’t want time to be wasted, and I don’t want what I had before
The ocean feels shallow and suddenly I’ve become aware of deeper waters
I fear the shore and cannot go back or I’ll dry up
Yet if I keep wading here I’ll always know there’s more to be had
I want to swim in the depth
The depths of Your love where the sound of waters rushing echoes Your voice
A depth where the unknown becomes known and mysteries revealed
That place no one’s gone before
Where I could keep on swimming yet never find a shore
Where each wave brings a greater revelation
A more beautiful glimpse of your face
And a joy and peace that I can hardly stand
So let the deeper call me out to the even deeper
May I be lost at sea
I take a deep breath and dare to jump; dare to swim
To those places I’m satisfied
There’s always more
You’re always more
