Hello from beautiful Ireland! I’m doing great and resting today after a full week. The Irish people are lovely in every way. Really friendly and quite funny! I’m working on my Irish accent, and if you know me at all, you know how much I love accents! I will dominate! 🙂
This past week, my team and I were privileged to work with Dublin Christian Mission’s Family camp in the scenic Wicklow Mountains. We helped with sessions, singing songs, teaching stories and verses, doing crafts, playing with the children, cleaning, and well, basically anything that needed to get done. It was more than incredible!

The start of the week was rather difficult. It was cold and rainy, something I’m not used to. But that’s not really the hard part. What was tough is gaining each child and their parents’ trust. After a few days of getting to know each other and earning their trust, I couldn’t help but fall in love with them! They were just awesome! By earning this trust, some kids and even some adults revealed heavy stuff to some of us on the team. We were able to speak life and encouragement to them and see God move in very real ways. It was really sweet.

One major thing God showed me this week is that prayer works. Some of you might say “duh Stacy, of course it does.” But I think sometimes we can take for granted just how real and powerful talking to God is. My team and I prayed for every family this week, but we prayed specifically for one of the moms and throughout the week we saw God touch her life in such a beautiful way. There was also one of the amazing staff workers whom we prayed for and she said that God definitely answered. Anyway, it’s just really sweet to see Philippians 4:6 come to life.
