Evolution verses creation. Darwin verses God. The epic
battle between evolution and faith rages on, causing chaos and confusion in the
minds of many. How do the two ideas fit together? How can we believe in the
book of Genesis when science tells us we evolved from a single cell organism
over millions of years?

In the scientific age that we live in, evolution appears to
be winning the battle, drawing millions to its seemingly solid proof that God
did not create the world. But what if the two were allies rather than enemies?
What if the two coexisted? What if, just what if, science was able to provide
proof for the existence of God rather than against Him?

How would that change your faith?

Many of us grew up being taught two opposing views. We
attended church every Sunday and were fed stories of creation and of Adam and
Eve in the Garden of Eden. Then we went to school and were taught about Darwin
and his famous theory of evolution. The two ideas conflicted, and for most, as
our childhood innocence waned, so did our belief in the fairytale-like stories
of the Bible.

We dismissed faith for science.

I’m currently reading a book that is revolutionizing the way
I view science and faith. It is turning my world upside down. Science, it appears, CONFIRMS my faith in
God rather than disproving it.
Let me repeat, just in case you missed it:
hundreds of scientific discoveries over the last few decades have come together
to prove the existence of a divine creator.

This book by Lee Strobel titled The Case for a Creator is a sequel to his more popular book titled The Case for Faith. For Strobel, science
and evolution had confirmed his atheism when he was a child. In recent years, Strobel
has found his faith again but always struggled with the conflict he saw between
faith and science. This book is his journey to rectify those differences as he
interviews expert scientists in every field. His conclusion? The world as we know it simply had to have
been created by an intelligent being.
There is no way around it. There are
no other options.

I suggest everyone pick up a copy and read it for yourselves
as I am not a scientist and cannot accurately recount all of the details for
you, nor do I have the time or space to go into any of the evidence, but I do
want to say one thing about my findings: Evolution
is wrong
.

Evolution simply is not a scientific fact. It is not
supported by evidence. Fossil evidence
actually DISPROVES evolution, as does many other recent findings
. In his
novel, the Origin of Species, Darwin
claims, “If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could
not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my
theory would absolutely break down.” Such complex organs have been found, thus
disproving evolution as well.

And to think, evolution only occupied the first chapter of
this book, and only one section of the vast amount of scientific proof for a
creator.

I would also like to mention that this book does not simply
say, “Evolution is not true, therefore, science is wrong and faith must be
right.” No, it goes on to explain the evidence that DOES exist and shows how
that evidence PROVES that there must be an intelligent being that created the
universe, the stars, the earth, and life on it.

I’m telling you, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy.
Read it. And read The Case for Faith
while you’re at it.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim
the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19:1) I’m beginning to understand just how true
this verse it. Scientists have looked at the skies. They’ve studied the
heavens. And what have they seen, what have they learned? To put it simply: they’ve seen the glory of God.
