SO FAR ON THE WORLD
RACE, I HAVE…

Realized that I actually might like beans, if we didn’t eat
them 3 times a day.

Ridden in a train, ferry, taxi, airplane, car, bus, van,
boat, tuk tuk, and in the back of a jeep.

Realized that I can’t sleep without washing my feet first.

Slept in 14 different locations.

Looked into the crater of a volcano.

Washed my clothes by hand.

Seen the world’s most beautiful lake.

Had eggs smashed in my hair as a traditional birthday
celebration.

Chopped a field down with a machete.

Been commanded to sit on a washing machine to keep it from
shaking.

Taken cold showers every other day for two months.

Tripped while running, twice.

Played soccer on a basketball court in sandals.

Eaten pupusas, fried plantains, sardines, and doblados.

Taught 60 Spanish speaking kindergartners how to sing
“Cristo es el Rey…”

Gone to the most dangerous country in the world.

Shared a bathroom with 40+ other people for a month.

Slept on the floor of an airport. Twice.

Been to 9 different churches.

Seen clowns on three separate occasions.

Marched around outside singing Spanish worship hymns.

Gotten motion sick on a carousel.

And seen the sun set over the Pacific Ocean!

I’m sure I’ve seen and done a lot more, and probably left
out a good number of amusing situations and experiences. But these were the
first ones that came to mind! I’m sure my list will be ever expanding, and
maybe every few months I will update it. The African list will probably be
rather amusing. Stay tuned!
