Hello loves ๐
So, sometimes I forget that everyone doesn’t know World
Race “lingo”. And I’m pretty sure that people are confused
sometimes. And you’re thinking ok cool…so you keep
talking about this World Race thing, that’s awesome but I
don’t know what you’re talking about half the time. Before
I get into what I need 51 people for, I want to take time to
answer a few questions that I am asked quite often. Well,
here are some answers!
1) What is a squad?
– A squad is a group of people that leave on the World
Race every few months. This group of people is split into
teams that they will travel and do ministry with in each
country. I was on July 2010 (P-squad) when I went on the
World Race. I had 74 people on my squad and 11
teams.The squad I’m leading (October-B squad) has 8
teams.
2) So, you say you’re squad leading. What exactly does
that mean?
– A squad leader has a few different roles. While I’m
responsible for choosing which teams will go to each
ministry, keeping in contact with each team to make sure
they are safe, and communicating with the stateside office
of the World Race in Georgia, my number one “job” is to
call Racers into greatness. To choose to love them when
they feel unlovable. To call out the Christ in them when
their actions say otherwise. To encourage them to push
all of the lies that the world has said about them out of
their hearts and replace it with truth. Truth of who God
says they are.
Wow…I kind of went on a tangent. I just get REALLY
pumped about this part ๐
3) Are you leaving for 11 months again? Seriously, you
just got back.
-No, friends..take a deep breath. I’ll be with the squad for
the first 4 months. Then, Mike (my co-leader) and I, will
choose two people to replace us as squad leaders.
4) Where are you going?
-Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Thailand
Those are most of the questions that I’ve gotten so
hopefully that gives you some answers!
Now…on to what I need 51 people for. I love B-squad
deeply. I’m so excited for them to begin their journey on
the World Race. I know what’s ahead…and I know that it’s
going to be hard. It’s going to be messy. It’s going to be
stretching. It’s going to be faith-building. & It’s going to be
awesome.
So I need for you to consider becoming a prayer warrior
for 1 of the 51 people on my squad for the length of their
World Race journey. You’re my people. They’re my
people. So let’s connect the two ๐
Email me or leave a comment if you would like to become a
prayer warrior for B-squad. Thank you! You are all loved
and cherished.
