How do I even begin to describe the depth of love that I have for October (B-squad)? I think Lil’ Wayne says it best in his song How to Love 🙂 :”you had a lot of crooks trying to steal your heart…never really had luck, could never figure out how to love.” It’s true that different things and people have tugged at my heart the past few years, but I didn’t invest myself much in those things.
I spent the last year fighting to love the people around me, overcoming differences that seemed to get in the way of that love so often. It was hard, but it was a huge lesson of learning to see people through the lens of God’s eyes rather than my own.
When I met B-squad last week, there was a feeling of familiarity of deep love. A love that welled up inside of me that didn’t have to be fought for this time, it was just there; God already broke away walls and pieces of myself that inhibited my ability to fully love on my own race. Rather than fighting for myself to love them, the Lord has called me to fight for them to love EACH OTHER and to KNOW they are loved unconditionally and intimately by Him.
So, without even lifting a finger to try to steal my heart, B-squad has completely captured it! I have so much confidence in these men and women. I’m going to begin introducing each of them to you in my blog. They’re my people, so please love on them through their blogs and lift them up in prayer as they begin this journey!
So…without further ado…I introduce you to B-squad! 🙂
