1. If you’re in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and in District 1….find the ladies working at a smoothie stand, and get a smoothie…or an iced white coffee…it will change your life.
2. Note that in having a smoothie you may or may not find yourself at the lovely International Hospital with a bacterial or parasitic infection causing diarrhea. The nurses and doctors are super friendly though.
3. If you happen to stay at Mimi’s Hotel get to know the people there…they’ll feed you if you’re nice.
4. Also, find Simba while you’re at the hotel and love on him.
5. Make sure you try and stop by Grace Cafe. Those people will change you’re life….I know they changed mine. They’ll also become family instantly….it’s beautiful.
6. If you decide to go to the “Japan Festival”…it’s not the festival you have going on in your head right now. It’s basically just advertisement for things to buy. You’ve been warned.
7. If you get the urge to visit the Vietnam War museum…prepare yourself ahead of time, and do some research. Keep in mind that it is their views on the war, and not ours.
8. When going to the night market don’t pay full price…ever…no more than half usually. Practice your bartering skills.
9. When crossing the street…don’t hesitate, and walk swiftly.
10. If you go to a park near a university be prepared to get swarmed by college students wanting to practice their English.
11. Take the time to get to know people here. The people here are beautiful, friendly, kind, and just awesome! This country is a thriving one, and our Daddy has made His claim on it. People are eager to talk to you, get to know you, and build relationships with you….this is your IN at planting a seed….so USE IT!
