I cannot believe it has already been a month since I last posted an update. I am so sorry! A lot has been going on the last couple of weeks, my life has been absolutely chaotic.
One of the main changes is that this past weekend I moved out of my house into a new home where I will be living until I leave the country. Thank you so much for praying for a location for me to live. A friend of mine from Biola and his wife had an extra room in their house that they are kindly renting to me. Thankfully the move went very smoothly thanks to my friend lending me his car (my little Civic just wasn’t going to cut it) and it only took two loads to move everything. I was able to sell off most of my furniture beforehand, so I only had a couple of larger items to move. As of now, I have been able to consolidate most of my stuff down to about 6-8 boxes but my goal is to get it down to 4 boxes before I leave. It is really hard for me to get rid of some of my stuff, but at the same time, it is really good for me to have to go through everything now so that I can be free to easily move wherever God calls me to a year from now after I get back from the World Race.
Despite the chaos of moving and getting ready, there have been a lot of awesome things going on in my life and I have felt very blessed. One major thing has been the opportunity to get to know some people at my church and get involved in a fellowship group. Though I have been going to King’s Harbor since December, it has been very difficult to get connected with people. However a couple of weeks ago I took part in their Sharefest where the church went out to do different work projects to help out the local community. I randomly chose a group to work with since I didn’t really know anyone, and amazingly enough the group I chose consisted of an awesome group of people, mainly my age. After working with everyone, I was invited to join their fellowship group and I have met with them the last two weeks. I have been praying for a way to meet people at this church and it has been awesome to see God answering this prayer.
In addition to seeing an answer to prayer with church, God has been really working in my life in so many ways. A couple people who have been praying for me have approached me with words of encouragement or things they felt led by God to share with me and these words have been a way for God to speak truth into my life. I have felt so encouraged and blessed. Also, it seems as though every Sunday, the sermons at church directly apply to everything going on in my life and I come away with so much to think about and ponder. Time and time again I feel God working in my life and preparing me for this upcoming year.
Another update is that the itinerary for my trip has changed and a couple new countries were added! Though it still can be changed, here is the updated new route: Philippines, India, Pioneer India/Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Pioneer Southeast Asia, Romania, Ukraine, Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya! Unfortunately, my prayer card/bookmarks are no longer accurate, so since the list could still change, stay tuned and I will be sure to keep you updated. If you haven’t received one of my cards, be sure to ask me when you see me or feel free to email me your address and I would love to send it to you.
Support Raising Update: I currently am at 27% of the total funds needed! Thank you everyone for your support! I have $3875 raised, but have to have $7000 raised by the start of August and $8,400 before I head out in September. Please partner with me in this ministry so I will be able to make this trip! If you have friends or other churches you could introduce me to I would be grateful. Thank you so much!
