Since being in Jaco, Costa Rica The Lord's put prayer walks on my heart and while being there we've done SO MANY of them- he brought to my attention just how powerful they are and how he calls his people to claim possession over what he's already conquered…. Which is this entire world, so my question is why aren't believers making this a daily intentionality?
God has given us the power and authority through him to stake this claim and possession over people, circumstances, places, buildings, situations, to be used for Christ and his purposes. He gives us the power through him to cleanse these places of the evil taking place, to rebuke the enemy of controlling, or using for his purposes, and then that's it!! It's God's and the enemy no longer has that control, The Lord is invited in, does his work in that person, place, situation, and sees it to completion! It's time for believers to take this SO much more seriously and ask The Lord to lead us daily in the promptings of His Spirit that dwells within us, to open our eyes and ears to his leading and call things to our attention that our flesh wouldn't be aware of so that we can claim, or pray for in agreement in His son's name!!! Which is why prayer walks are truly so powerful, however this shouldn't just been a once a week but a daily way of life.
Yesterday morning, we went on a prayer walk through Jaco, posting up flyers on the truth of prostitution and trafficking, how it's a reality that these women don't decide on but are trapped into. We started off asking God to truly open our eyes and see what He wants us to see, experience, and pray in spiritual battle for; we had no idea what that prayer was about to get us into..Tayo and I paired up, anointed and cleansed buildings, restaurants, alleys, women in His name- these are places where women go to sell their children into trafficking, others go to sell themselves, other spots were local areas where women are brought by their traffickers like herds of cattle and used and sold for sex.
As we were walking back up a sidestreet off of the main tourist street, a big van drove past us, Tayo noticed that there were women inside and the van was unmarked- most of the vans around here are marked with whatever tour company it's apart of. So we stopped and watched what was happening. The van parked in front of a local outdoor restaurant, filled with locals and tourists, positioned between a gorgeous hotel on the beach and a campground on its left side. Oddly enough, there was a big bouncer type man standing in front of a normal restaurant which we found very strange, especially because he's never been there before and it's a normal beach restaurant, not a club. A man then led the women from inside the van to the restaurant, the bouncer letting them in. We knew something was up at this point, the women being younger and most dressed scantily. We walked back and went into the restaurant and sat down but the women were gone, literally that quickly..we then saw them all hidden in the far left backside of the restaurant, out of view to most, but there. Nice cars then started pulling up and parking behind the van, men got out and went straight to the far back where the women were. At this point I felt completely sick to my stomach and I can't even explain the emotions running through me- I've worked with trafficked victims both in the states and Nicaragua, advocated for trafficking, but never have seen the actual process and transaction happen right before my eyes. I felt enraged and disgusted as I looked around at everyone just sitting there as this happened in secrecy right before them; this issue is so real, so prevalent, so quickly growing, yet not enough is being done to fight it. We prayed fervently over those women, traffickers, customers, and restaurant- The Lord revealed to me through this situation how desperately we as believers need to be praying for this, for men to rise up and advocate against this and say this is not ok, for the celebrities involved to stop promoting (ice cube, snoop dogg, Ashton kutcher, the list goes on- you can research The Player's Ball) and using their influence and money to put an end to it, for victims to be found, freed, healed, protected, rescued, for the traffickers to feel conviction, eyes to be unveiled, dark brought to light, restoration, for the customers to stop buying to feel convicted, to know Christ and stop supplying and buying into the demand
Please just PRAY for this huge monstrosity- God gives us so much power and authority to ASK HUGE BIG THINGS we need to start asking of these prayers!!!!! He's already overcome the wickedness of the enemy, His presence just needs to be invited in to move and He will move without a shadow of a doubt! Please pray for these things unceasingly, call it to others attention, it's time to WAKE UP, to become the prayerful believers that God created us to be, to utilize all of the armor and weapons He's given us to fight this spiritual battle! The time is now and can't wait any longer- imagine a woman being sold for sex and never coming to know The Lord as her Savior and then spending her whole eternity apart from him after everything she's been through on earth!? That's why the gospel needs to be SO DESPERATELY preached, these women, children, traffickers need rescuing and prayer and healing from our Savior.
We also had the opportunity to pray over 2 prostitutes, and came across an older male pedophile with a young boy, prayer for them as well. Spread awareness of trafficking, pray pray pray, pray for full time shelters and homes for these victims to go to after being rescued! I worked with the only one we have in Naples, Florida and it can house up to 4 girls…… That's how desperate this need is, otherwise the women go to juvenile and jail for something that's not even their fault! It's a twisted cycle that needs prayer as it's first solution- pray for God to raise up people to fill in these needed positions of housing, pray for safe houses to be provided.
