Month 4 is finally here! After a long few days of travel we finally made it to Sarah’s Covenant Home!

Sarah’s Covenant Home is an organization that has multiple foster style homes for orphaned children with special needs. Right now they are housing about 107 children within about 9 different homes. Most of the homes have a foster mom that lives there with the children 24/7, they also have Ias (i-ahs). Ias are women from local villages that come into the homes to take care of the children. Most of the Ias are widows, they are given the option to live in the home with the children. You can tell that the Ias love these children as if they were their own!

During the day the children spend time outside, do a few hours of therapy(speech or physical, depending on their disability) take naps, go for a swim, read stories, and spend time together with their ias. Some of the older children even get to go to school. SCH has all their children capable of going to school in a local private school.

The children that are within SCH are brought from the Hyderabad orphanage. India is ran off of a cast system. Being these children are all born with a disability they are considered “untouchables” They are mostly given up at birth and put into the system. Sarah realized the need for these children to get the love they deserve and that is when SCH was founded.

I have been beyond impressed with the way this ministry is ran! Each home is so full of love and a path to a successful future for all of these children. SCH is always looking for support! You can sponsor a child by going to SCH’s website!
