Quick Update from Klang, Malaysia….
- Last week we had month 4 debrief in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and our squad went through a lot of changes in leadership and team make-up.
- I am no longer a team leader. I am very thankful for this as I believe the Lord is calling me to walk through some things that would be much more difficult with the added weight of the responsibility of being a team leader.
- My new team consists of my sisters Kacie (team leader), Kayla, Ashley, Jenn, and Sarah. We are called Deeply Loved because of the Father’s love for us and the depths of our souls we believe He will change through relationship with Him and each other over the next 3 months.
- We are serving at a home for orphan girls. I will not be able to post pictures of their beautiful faces, but I can share some action shots of them as long as their faces are not shown. Please pray for us in this part of our journey as the Lord has called us here to help make some major changes in the home.
- We, you and I, are only $4,283 away from the final fundraising goal of $16,277. It is due December 31st, exactly 2 months from today. If you feel led to support me financially please pray and help me reach this final deadline for my journey by clicking the Support Me! tab. Thank you all for your overwhelming support and love.
A little more info…
My new team and I are doing well together. It consists of 2 of my old teammates and 3 new ones. At first I was a little upset that there were old team members on my new team. I quickly realized that that was because I had unconsciously assumed that because the Lord was showing me all these new things He wanted to walk me into so that also meant that my team would be completely new as well. I now see it as a gift that they’re here with me. It’s funny because they are the 2 people that reached out to me when we were at moth 1 debrief in Nepal… Long story for another time, but they were exactly what I needed in that moment. So the new team and I are working with Grace Assembly Ministries in Klang, Malaysia which is about an hour away from Kuala Lumpur, the capital city. We are working at a home with 14 orphan girls that are 5-17 years old. We’re basically revamping the whole program so please pray for us in that endeavor. Thankfully, Kacie is a social worker so our professional knowledge combined with the experience of our other teammates and the Holy Spirit should be good.
Spiritually, I am excited and I know that I am on the cusp of a breakthrough. I finished The Shack by W.M. Paul Young yesterday. (Great book that you should read if you’ve not done so yet.) God is so smooth in the way that He reaches us! I learned so much about walking in forgiveness, hope, accepting His love, honesty, dealing with emotions, intimacy in relationships, and reliance upon the Father and the Holy Spirit. I’m telling you, that book combined with Myo’s example and this team… God is about to shake some things up in my life. Two things I’ll share with you: 1) “Lies are one of the easiest places for survivors to run. They give you a sense of safety, a place where you have to depend only on yourself. But it’s a dark place.” I think over the next few months the Holy Spirit is going to bring to light some lies that are hidden in my heart to produce growth interpersonally and intrapersonally. 2) “Don’t ever discount the wonder of your tears. They can be healing waters and a stream of joy. Sometimes they are the best words the heart can speak.” I think that the realization of lies I’ve carried is going to produce lots of tears and I’m okay with that. I really am! 😉 (By the way, both quotes are from the book.)
Anywho, that’s that for now. It is 11:57pm here so I’m going to go ahead and hit the sack. Much love my sisters and brothers!
