Sometimes I wake up in the morning to the sound of autos and tuk tuks honking impatiently at each other and the Muslim call to prayer over loud speakers in the distance, and for a split second I wonder, “Where the heck am I?!” And then from my spot on the couch I look around and see 7 girls laying all across the floor of the living room of our pretty decent guesthouse and I remember, “Oh yeah. I’m in India.”

13 days ago my squad and I landed in this totally foreign place called Delhi…

… before catching another flight to Hyderabad…

… and then a couple days later my team and 2 others traveled 8.5 hours by bus in 100°+ weather with no air conditioning and Indian music blaring to a small, super conservative village.

When we arrived we were met by 3 of the sweetest, kindest, most patient and self-sacrificial men I’ve ever met. I’m sure you’ll hear more about Johnson, Babu, and Thomas later.

Wonder what it’s like to be here? As I mentioned on Facebook a few days ago, “This has been quite a ride already y’all! Like, I can’t even begin to describe the things I’ve seen, heard, smelled, touched, tasted, or done. Teammates, squad mates, house hosts, ministry hosts, tuk tuk drivers, horns honking at all hours nonstop, people trying to touch my hair, others staring at me trying to figure out if I’m Indian, American, or alien, children with special needs who are totally dependent upon their ayahs (caretakers), cows taking over the roads, water buffalo coming up out of the ground without a moment’s notice, and an awesome church right outside my front door where the people’s worship was simply awe-inspiring… And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!”

Thank you SO very much for your prayers, text messages of encouragement, and comments on FB and IG. Please keep them coming because the enemy and his army are out at full force. The spiritual warfare is more real than I could have ever imagined. But, my Abba is all-powerful and He is our victor!!! Amen!

Also, thank you to my financial donors. We are 51% funded!!! My next deadline is in October and I am required to have at least $11,000 by then. I’m believing God for the funds to roll on in.
