Gratitude.
I write this post with a light heart, feeling so thankful for YOU. My dear friends, family, and even acquaintances who have been gracious enough to support my dream through prayer, monthly-giving commitments, and gifts of your time, travel equipment, skills and finances. I wish I could name names, but out of respect, I will keep this anonymous – but you all know who you are. Wow. I am so blessed by your generosity. Those of you who have made the decision to sacrifice money each month to go towards my Race – I want you to know, seriously, how much it means to me. It truly expresses to me that you see me as worth investing in. That your belief in me and in God’s goodness has compelled you to give – and I know for some of you that is truly a sacrifice.
I hope that my choice to risk can encourage you. Life is not promised to us, and it is in the places we find most purpose that we will truly be content and fulfilled. For me, it was in hearing God say, “I love you, regardless…” that my life was flipped upside down, and I found the key to a rich and adventurous life here on earth.
But it required a choice….to trust Him.
SO, TO MY SUPPORTERS, I CHALLENGE YOU TODAY:
Maybe it’s time to take that risk, give up that bad habit, forgive that person who hurt you. Maybe it’s time to stop ‘pretending,’ or doubting yourself, or letting other people’s opinions tell you who you are. Maybe it’s time to let go of some things, or to persevere and hold on to some things – like a marriage, or a commitment you made that must be upheld. Maybe, it’s time to let God in – or to give Him control of some things you decided He couldn’t take care of. After all, it says in the James 4, “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”
We have been given the opportunity to live a great life, one of adventure and risk, that requires giving up everything to gain everything – that is, the precious, powerful gift of moment-by-moment grace. Whatever your challenge is, know that I am risking right alongside you. I am on my knees and I am hoping in greater things for you and for me.
With Gratitude,
Shelli
