Over the past few weeks I have been studying Crash the Chatterbox, which is about overpowering the lies of the enemy with the promises of God.

This book has been so beneficial in my life because often times I am faced with the thought, “I am never _____ enough.”

I am never smart enough
I am never wealthy enough
I am never pretty enough
I am never skinny enough
I am never strong enough
I am never patient enough
I am never kind enough
I am never faithful enough
I am never in my Bible enough
I am never praying enough
I am never loving enough
I am never enough.

Sound familiar?

All my life this has been the rhythm in my head. My thoughts held captive by the ramblings of my insecurities. However, as I have starting taking those thoughts and replacing them with declarations of God’s word, statements like “I am never _____ enough” begin to lose their power. I may not have a lot of confidence in myself right now, but I am strong and courageous (Deuteronomy 31:6). I may not like myself at this moment, but I am loved (John 15:9). I may feel alone, but God says He will draw close to me (James 4:7-8).

I have started making a list. This list includes promises and realities of God found throughout scripture. I encourage you do this yourself. We can’t stop the chatter around us that the world breathes down our neck, but we can block it if we have something to stop it with.
